About me

I am a self-proclaimed world citizen who is currently living in Brussels, Belgium, Montreal, Canada, Brighton, England. Here I am developing my love for chocolate, cheese, and of course, belgian waffles, maple syrup, snow and poutine, tea, sausage rolls and royalty. The purpose of this blog is to relay my life back to my family and friends (and anyone else), make fun of everyone, and to record briefly the little snippets of my life so that I can make fun of myself later.

  1. Hi,

first of all congrats on your great blog…

We recently posted a a Report from our trip to Brussels (http://www.bookstoreguide.org/2008/09/report-from-brussels.html), which describes our impressions of the local anglophone bookstore scene. We thought that you may find the article interesting for your readers as well. If you like it, you’re more than welcome to add a link and use any parts of the article in your blog.

    Cheers,

    Ivan & Sonja

  2. Hi Ivan and Sonja -
I just read through your review, and REALLY enjoyed it, and will definitely mention it to all the anglophone (or even other language speakers) in the area. Thanks for the research!

  3. Hello Mahsa,

I love your blog! You are so beautiful!

My name is Elizabeth and I say “chetori” ? :) I found your blog by chance because my boyfriend and I have decided to spend the 31 in Brussels and as I love reading blogs about Paris (where I live) I thought that Brussels blogs would have better and more personal information than tripadvisor.com (lol)…

I am most intrigued by your site too because unless I am mistaken, you are Persian… I am Mexican but I used to live in Michigan and my best friends there are Persians…! So when I saw the entry about pomegranates, I said to myself she is Persian or Mexican, because we eat a lot of pomegrantes there, too ! I spent 4 years at the University of Michigan and 10Years total in Ann Arbor surrounded by wonderful people fromIran who are like my family now. .. I haven’t met many Persians in Paris unfortunately, but someday I hope!

We will be in Brussels tomorrow, if you have the time and could let me know some interesting things to see or do, or where to go for New Years eve I woudl be so happy.

Merci and Ho-da-phes… (my best try at phonetic farsi)

    Elizabeth

PS. please email if you can because I tried to email you but I do not see an email listed.

  4. Hi Elizabeth!
Thanks for the comment. Yes, I am from Persian origin and your farsi is excellent.

I don’t have your email, so hopefully you can check back on here for ideas. I assume since you live in Paris, you can speak a little french, so here is a website with all the events in Brussels (clubs and djs):
    http://www.zone02.be/

I also know that there will be plenty of people at Grand Place, and I am sure you can see the fireworks show from there — the actual show will be at the Albertine Gardens, which is near all of the museums, down the hill.

I wish I could tell you more about what to see in Brussels for New Years Eve, but I don’t think I am the best expert. I have spent more NYE in Paris than Brussels.

Enjoy! I hope you have a great trip here.
