OMG....I literally about peed myself reading this. You crack me up. Glad they have a good rapport and you found someone that makes you at ease (except when you have to hug or think about maybe hugging?! ;) ) But really, sounds like a good option. So happy for you and Pedram. And...your precious. What's the due date again??

Hi Mahsa! I just read a few of your entries and I am so proud of you and really enjoyed your writing. Congrats! I gave birth in a "new" country, far from my homeland, family, and Mom as well and it was strange, and I really missed my Mom. I still miss her a lot, because for some reason you keep comparing yourself to your Mom, reviving your childhood, and wondering if you and your partner are going to raise your child with as much love as your parents did. However, thanks to technology, you are still very well connected. It's not exactly the same as a full teleportation, but yeah, You both will be such wonderful parents. how do I know that? because your own parents did such an excellent job! A friend told me to take lots of pictures so that you can revive and remember those times again in the years to come.Take care. Sending you big hugs and love, A

Here in Belgium it's common to see your OB/GYN once a month, the last 3 months even twice a month. Every time, there was an ultrasound, an internal exam, and a bloodtest...and of course time to ask all posible questions. Next to that, I had to go 3 times to hospital for a 3D ultrasound (also normal procedure). Maybe it's a bit "overmedicalised" here, and all the testing sometimes made me more nervous than I should have been. But at least I was pretty sure that everything was okay - and that ALL my questions were being answered (and taken seriously!). I have some friends who were pregnant while living in the UK, and they even came back to Belgium to give birth, because they were so disapointed in the NHS (similar stories: a different midwive every time, not answering questions, ...)...But I guess it's just what you're used to, or what your needs are.
Other than that - it's perfectly normal to feel anxious! Looking back ,I so wished I had enjoyed it more! It really is a very special time ..

What an eye opener. Just as you've guessed...this experience has been the complete opposite of what I dealt with in both of my pregnancies. How strange! I'm like you and like asking a lot of questions and 'what ifs'. I can't imagine going through it that way now that I've been through the 'USA version'. Please, plesae, please message or email me if you have any questions AT ALL. I would be more than happy to answer anything and everything you've got. But, I won't be asking you to take off your pants. Sorry you won't get that part from me. Hahaha. ;)

This is interesting -- especially your need to take off your pants! Other than the initial visit, there is never a need too!

I would say that most women I know don't always feel supported in their pregnancy. I know too many people who say they would do it differently if they had known....

So much of this is the media's fault, always showing women panicking and screaming. There is a need to make it seem so traumatic. But an informed, confident women doesn't need to be like that.

Good luck! You are doing the right thing, read as much as possible.
